Sponsors and Supporters of VLI

VLI and the students we serve gratefully acknowledge the following Sponsors and Supporters:

The Honda of America Mfg. Foundation (HAM)
VLI summer academy funding support from the Honda of America Mfg. Foundation (HAM) reflects HAM’s commitment to fund community projects throughout Ohio. This includes HAM’s education outreach program, which strives to improve academic achievement by offering quality-based training in the counties where Honda associates live and work.

KnowledgeWorks Foundation
With the support and leadership of KnowledgeWorks Foundation, Visionary Leaders Institute is helping improve the leadership skills of students in 25 Ohio Schools as part of the KnowledgeWorks Student Leadership Skills Initiative.

VLI is honored to have joined the list of organizations such as the Ohio and U.S. Departments of Education, the Ford Foundation, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation which have partnered with KnowledgeWorks Foundation, whose unconventional approach to educational philanthropy is “Fund, Facilitate, and Do.”

Limited Brands
The Limited Brands family is comprised of more than 111,000 dedicated individuals who focus their many talents and energies on building a family of the world's best fashion brands.

But that focus and dedication extends far beyond the walls of their buildings and facilities, reaching into the communities and cities where their associates live and work. It's that extended family, comprised of charitable organizations, associations and groups, which Limited Brands is committed to supporting and growing through a variety of programs and initiatives aimed at improving the lives of others.

Limited Brands’ funding of the VLI summer academy is an example of the embodiment of this extraordinary spirit of giving.

NABSE
Visionary Leaders Institute (VLI) is proud to work in collaboration with The National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE). Founded in 1970, NABSE boasts an outreach to more than 10,000 preeminent educators including teachers, administrators, and superintendents, as well as corporate and institutional members.

NABSE is devoted to furthering the academic success for the nation’s children - particularly children of African descent - through the development and use of instructional and motivational methods that increase levels of inspiration, attendance and overall achievement.

Among the recent VLI-NABSE partnership initiatives is VLI’s coordination of a multi-disciplinary workshop for more than 400 principals as part of NABSE’s annual national conference.

United Way of Central Ohio
VLI’s summer academy has received generous support from the United Way of Central Ohio, which is unique in its focus on community impact. The VLI Benjamin Banneker Summer Academy was determined to be consistent with the UWCO community impact approach of no longer simply raising and distributing money to non-profits, but rather identifying programs that represent proactive, permanent solutions to the root causes of our community’s most challenging problems, in an effort to strive for achieving lasting results.

Visionary Leaders Institute (VLI) is one of the leading educational institutions providing change in the field of urban education. The mission of Visionary Leaders Institute is to make significant positive contributions to the revitalization of urban America by providing training, guidance, inspiration and technical assistance to those involved in public education. This includes parents, students, teachers, administrators and staff.
